Lydia K
Tattooer and visual artist
After graduating from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2001, I moved to Toronto to pursue a career in textile art and fashion. I switched gears in 2007 to tattooing and have been working professionally in the trade ever since. On the side I write pysanky (Ukrainian easter eggs), make ceramics, stitch embroidery and quilts, paint, draw, collage, weave, knit, and make my own clothing.
In October 2023 I closed my Galiano Island tattoo studio to open Mudlark Pottery, a community ceramics studio offering classes and memberships. Please visit mudlarkgaliano.com for more information. I continue to tattoo part time at Pacific Rose in Vancouver and have a few days a month for Galiano Island appointments. Priority is given to requests for my own designs but I will consider custom work. I add new designs to the “available designs” page of this site when I can.
A selection of my ceramic work can be purchased in the shop section of this site. A wider selection of my pottery is available in person at the Galiano Saturday Market from June to October.
